THE CASENTINO VALLEY:

The Casentino is situated in the upper Arno valley. It is a land of castles, Romanesque Pievi, Della Robbia terra-cottas, Dantesque places and spiritual spots.

Casentino is considered by right one of the most beautiful valleys of Tuscany.

Foreste Casentinesi

This area presents a rich vegetation and beautiful, centuries old forests which are part of the National Park of the Casentino Forests.

A green oasis within the Appenine chain between Tuscany and Romagna.

The Casentino includes many small and characteristic towns, all within the province of Arezzo.

Among them:

Poppi, decorated with the title of one of the most beautiful boroughs of Italy, is dominated by the great mole of the Guidi Counts' castle (see the photo)

The castle of the Guidi family was built in the 13th century and it has many similarities with Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
